I camp at the St. Sebastian River Preserve State Park www.floridastateparks.org/stsebastian/default.cfmwith my horse and my girlfriends several times a year. But once a year we head SW to the Kissimmee Prairie Preserve State Park www.floridastateparks.org/kissimmeeprairie/and always bring my copy of "A Land Remembered" with me. Now I may be off by a little (or a lot) but KPPSP is right around the area where the family was staying when they would ride into Ft Drum. Many a time I've taken a moonlight lope and thought about Zech loping off to the Frolic. It's unlike most of the other SPs in Florida due to it being a Prairie, though it does have some amazingly beautiful hammocks. And the deer are very, very friendly.
